Lifelong Learning (referred as LL) is created for workers in production units. Courses are designed not only for this particular group, but the broader professional community may participate. Their purpose is to update and expand knowledge gained so far in these areas.

Courses are based on faculty orientation and their guarantors are individual employees. Guarantors, who are responsible for the smooth running of courses, lead the tuition themselves, or coordinate activities of other lecturers – skilled experts in particular fields selected not only from among the faculty staff, but also called on from other reputable sites cooperating with universities within the Czech Republic or abroad.

Lifelong learning courses have had tens of graduates since the beginning, most of them directly from the production sector. The course offer primarily reflects the needs of industry. This is manifested mainly by increasing the annual number of courses offered. An annual plan for lifelong education courses is proposed at the beginning of each calendar year. This plan is annually updated in accordance with the requirements of industry. Where a firm has more candidates on the course, the course can take place directly within the enterprise. Price and dates of courses are set by mutual agreement of interested parties.

The year 2010 brought change into course organization. Courses are newly provided by means of the Science and Technology Park Ústí nad Labem, which as part of the faculty, took over the administration of LL courses.

Some of the courses are prepared in cooperation with the Czech Society of Manufacturing Technology. They may be single 2 to 4 hour lectures on a particular up-to-date topic. Each course is scheduled to conclude with a topic discussion.
